KATHY SANCHEZ

ABOUT

I'm a researcher and data analyst in criminal justice and economics. My interests include government data systems, transparency, weapons, economic mobility, occupational regulation and administrative regulation. Much of my research has focused on seizures and forfeitures, and my work has been cited by Justice Gorsuch, ProPublica and other outlets.

I specialize in managing data processes and translating research findings into clear, actionable language. I've worked for Maryland's sentencing commission and at the Institute for Justice. Most recently, I worked at the Council on Criminal Justice.

I live in Baltimore, MD. Things I love include playing with my pit bull mix, fitness, heavy metal, a great bargain like hosting this website on GitHub Pages for "free" and various hobby projects like making this site with ChatGPT.
